does it really hold on to the bare phone? i have a brand new iphone 7 and im not about to stick a magnet on the back of my matte black phone. i dont use a case.NRGM45 wrote:Hey all.. The good thing about this mount is that if you have a recent smartphone like an S6, S7, Note 4, 5 or Iphone 6 or 7, it will hold your phone without requiring the usual metal plate stuck to the back of it. Somehow, there's enough metal in these phones for this magnetic mount to work with it just the way it is form the factory.

Agreed. Anyhow, I bought the same mount. I kind of like it. Not in love with it. You can mount it either in the CD slot or on the vent. It works on both. If you don't have a case for your phone, keep in mind there's a thin metal plate that you'll need to stick on the back of your phone.
