After putting 10,000 awesome and enjoyed miles on my 2007 G35x, a warning light came on when i started the car this morning with a picture of the Key and an empty battery.

Do i have to go to the dealer to change the battery?

I have a spare, but don't want to have a useless key... anyone already change the battery in their smart key? Where & How Much?

Thanks for the replies people and have a Happy New Year!

Did you get your keyfob replaced?

There is a recall for those keyfobs. I assume not because they would give you new ones. If that's the case go ahead and make an appointment to replace them. I've got mine done several months ago. My G is 14 months old.

Anyways, You don't have to take it to the dealer to replace the batery in your fob. You can do it yourself. It is like any other remote. You have to be gentle when you pry it open.
