Oh so the FCC #'s on the back don't matter since the new remote # doesn't match my current remote #'s? I was alittle concerned since some ebay auctions said their remotes were for certain models. I did search and most dealers charge $100 + while a lucky few get it done for free as a courtesy. My local dealer wants $135!!NightWatch wrote:The good news is any infiniti intelligent key should work with any infiniti vehicle.... The bad news is that a tech has to do the initial programming to match it to your specific vehicle... Do a search of the forum. I think the estimates were around $100 to do that.
Also, you may ask a Nissan Dealershipgigatt wrote:No, it will not work, you have to get one for an M to use it on an M.
Alright guess i have to sell this one...Thanks..Only cost me $25 anyway..odie wrote:He's right. FCC's MUST match.

Did they have to reprogram your other keys as well to match the one from the G35?kmilbrad94 wrote:not true, I got a G35 keyfob and the dealer managed to set it to my M35X
He is NOT right. I know for a fact that any Infiniti Smart key can be reprogrammed for any Infiniti Vehicle and I suspect that ANY Nissan smart key may be used on any Infiniti vehicle as well although I have never witnessed this done.odie wrote:He's right. FCC's MUST match.

May I ask how you know this tid bit Smarty pants if it's something you've never seen done?NightWatch wrote:

I've called the dealer and one said yes the other said no. Sounds like they have no clue either... Thats why i wanted to test it out the forums to see if people had any experience with it.odie wrote:

gibz4, call up your local dealership before you sale it. The source of my information came from 3 people at Infiniti so I felt it was a reliable source. Maybe it can be done, but perhaps it may be more of an involved process.
That's "Mr. Smarty Pants" to you.... Perhaps I wasn't clear - I have never personally seen a Nissan Smart Key re-programmed to be used on an Infiniti vehicle - however the technology is identical so I don't see why it would not be possible. I HAVE seen an Infiniti key for one model (say a G35) reprogrammed for use on another model (say an M35) on two occassions and one was my own personal car.odie wrote:
