Hey everyone. Ok i'm in a bit of a bind.
My back up smart key (2006 m35x) will start my car only when placed into the lil slot. that sucks but its not the end of the world.

Suckie part is that i cannot (un)lock the doors with the fob nor open the trunk from the rear of the vehicle.

I saw this thread (post5825469.html?hilit=fob%20unlock%20doors#p5825469) with seemingly helpful instructions but they are debunked by the last post.

I went to the stealership and they are totally confused. Service guy told me since it starts it is programmed to the vehicle and should work with the doors. He then brought out his lil rf transmitter tester and the fob showed it was sending a signal.

Someone...anyone... got any ideas?

When the battery is weak it will still transmit (why the dealer's reader could pick it up) but the transmit power is very low and the receivers in the car can not pick it up through the metal. The car starts because when you put it in the slot the RFID is in very close proximity to the receiver. The battery is cheap and easy to replace, even if you have already replaced it, try replacing it again. CR2032 battery.

I just purchased a new set of 2032 batteries. I put one in the fob but I'm still in the same boat. Cat starts only with fob in the port. No response from the doors.
Does it make a difference that the fob says 2025?

Even though it had a 2025 (albeit old) in there to begin with.

This is all due to this fob btw. My old fob worked perfect. I lost it and got this one from eBay.

I read through the forums to make sure I got the right one.

Anyone care to verify 06 serial numbers for me?

Got a locksmith through aaa to come out and do it.
Hooked this fancy computer thing up to the car and did it that way.

Glad that the locksmith was able to program it.
I bought FOB smart key off Ebay (FCC ID CWTWBU618) awhile back, took it to the dealership and they were able to program it on option 2, just don't tell the dealership you got it from Ebay LOL

Since you're so persistent with this issue I'll state the obvious first. You're using a 3rd party proprietary FOB which is not certified by Nissan to work with Nissan vehicle. I would not expect anything more than what you are getting even though the other individual is seeing better results. My experience with Chinese made replica parts is you will experience a 50/50 chance that what you buy does not work entirely or even at all.

Start by buying a certified FOB from a Nissan dealer and have it programmed. If you still are not seeing the expected results then revisit this as an issue related to other parts.

I figured since it was probably made in china how would it be a knock off haha.
