So as the title says. I bought a 2015 Rogue Select for the wife last month. 82k miles and in great shape except for the draining battery issue. Previous owner told me they put a new alternator on last year after 2 batteries the previous 6 months prior died. I knew nothing about a smart alternator until I bought this vehicle. I put in a new battery last week and noticed this week it was starting to turn over slow when cranking. I tested the battery and found 10.7 volts sitting. I assumed I got a faulty battery. tested when running and got 10s up to 12s volts. I couldnt figure it out until i ran across articles on smart alternator systems. How stupid of an idea honestly.

From what Ive gathered there is no battery drain from any of the fuses or connections that I can find. Seems to read between 11s and 12s on volts when running after putting battery on a tender for 2 days.

I pulled the plug on the alternator yesterday just to see if it would produce 14s upon cranking and sure enough it instantly on start up showed 14.4 volts. those volts quickly dropped below 13 withing about 30 seconds so i turned engine off and reattached plug. Readings after reattaching plug shows once again 11s and 12s volts.

I have read about pulling the smart wire in the fuse box to bypass the smart alternator system and get a true 14volt constant while driving.

Does anyone here know for sure which wire i need to pull in the fuze box to bypass the system? and or is it easier and will it do the same to pull one of the 2 wires on the plug at the alternator itself? Ive read a few places that pulling the blue wire will disable the smart charge feature. Im not sure if this would work on mine or not.

NOTE: my negative battery cable does not have the plug that some have that would disable this feature.

i have attached pics if someone can help. thank you

Someone misinformed you, the gen1 Rogues and Rogue Selects don't have smart charging. The Blue wire on the connector is for the generator warning lamp, the Pink one is the 12V supply for the field coils. The alternator won't put out meaningful current without juice to the fields, and your low voltage in operation indicates it's either that or a bum alternator. The fields are fed from fuse #32 in the underhood fuse box (the fuse box, not the IPDM). It's connected to battery, so use a test lamp to check it, not a pull-and-looksee. If both sides are dead there's a problem upstream, if one side lights then the fuse is blown, if both sides light then the fuse is good and has power so you probably have a bad alternator.

Ok I wasn’t aware my gen didn’t have smart ones. Well I’ll be happy with that and check what you said. Thank you for the help.
