Can we make and use a smaller alternator pulley for all the people worried about not enough power at idle?

There is some homework that needs to be done but its better than going on a quest for a "high output alternator".

Spinning the alternator faster may increase its output at low speeds, but it won't increase the maximum output (which is limited by things other than rotor speed).

Also, more RPMs = more wear on the bearings and brushes.

Finally, there is a maximum safe speed for the rotor. Centrifugal force is constantly trying to rip the windings off - and at some speed, it will succeed!
