A little update. I have 30psi oil pressure crankin it over. Still have to run my ignition. Nine whole wires including 8 plug wires. :) so pretty much one wire. I have some universal msd wires, so i have to make the distributor side, waiting until my headers are done though, got a few im gonna hack up to make one that fits on the driver side.
Single wire alternator is mounted and ready. Charging is done.
Gonna get some flexable radiator hose in the morning and fill her up with some coolant. Then run my wiring for my fans and temp gauge. Cooling almost done.
I will be ready for start up in a few weeks, hopefully.
Then have a driveshaft made. Saving it til last though.

So I am now to the point where I have to get my gas from the tank to the carb.

Here is my question.

Is there a way to wire the stock fuel pump directly to a hot with the key on?

Or should I just tap a hole in the bottom of the tank and run external pump and regulator.

Thanks. Mike

I have to throw my carb on, hook up a few vacuum ho's and decide on how to get gas to it, can at least have a start up with some starter fluid

All I need is to finish my driverside header. And if I have spark, which I should, I will hopefully have to find out how to post a video on here :)

Driveshaft should be done by friday hopefully. And I am still working on Ideas for this driverside header before I start cutting up all my headers. If all goes well I will be on the road in 2-3 weeks. And I will have a start up as soon as this header is done, becauase that is all i need now, and the drive shaft. :)

Email David at Shaftmasters and see if he can hook you up on a one piece custom shaft. Tell him you were recommended by Aaron on NICO Z32 forums and he may be able to cut you a deal. He's one of our long time sponsors on here, and a great guy to work with. http://www.shaftmasters.com/ is the URL. All his contact info should be there.

Thanks for the recommendation Ace. If I snap this one than I will definatly look into one.
I have went way over my budget though and I have an angry wife, at least until she goes for a ride. :yesnod Now I have to try to keep it cheap. There is this Semi shop in town that I have heard good things about, so I am gonna give them a shot.

Thats awesome, I'm totally cool with that.

I have more videos, but that's my favorite so far.

They said they will be done with my DS on Wednesday. I should have it all good and gravy by then.

Very nice! I am also interested in putting a small block in my Z one day. Don't have the time/cash/need for it now. But once I am done here at school, it is gonna happen. Looking to do a 5.3 LSx keeping the EFI, should be fun. Looks good, keep us posted!

Thank you. LS motors are cool, you should do it. my buddy has a 90 rx7 ls1/t56. Its mostly stock. He is my first race as soon as she is broke in.

I plan on doing a TPI intake in the future. I like fuel injection, but carbs are so much easier.

So i thought i was having timing issues because it will run beautiful for 2min, with a full battery, and then it starts misfiring, and flooding, and die, and have a dead battery, turns out i was getting no charge. :slap: Have the issue resolved :). charging at 13.5. Took this before it was fixed. now that I know how to post video, i can get a good one. but its loud and my neighbors get mad so i have to wait until tomorrow for a little better one.

My driveshaft is done, and I'm picking it up in the morning, if all goes well, I will have a nice open header video, while driving to get some exhaust lol

I wonder what greedy evo2 will sound like with a nasty v8

That is absolutely fantastic! You made the process look so simple. I love at the end of the next to last video, "Is that fire down there??" LOL!!

Do you mind if I ask how much of an investment you made in making the swap?

Thanks for the compliments guys.

I have only got the chance to drive it around the block twice. Already having a problem.

She is pretty beastly, But now im having staring issues, as in not wanting to start. I think I gave the 8 year old starter its final kicks. Even with a fresh full battery it didnt want to start.
New starter scheduled for delivery on tuesday.

Truthfire.

As for how much I have invested. I will let you know I went way over my limit i gave myself.
Right now im at $3000.
Im kinda disappointed.

How much did the ds run you?
What did you do for headers?
Did you spend most of the budget on upgrades or what?
And now that it's complete, what would you do differently?
How hard was the wiring?
K, I'm done for now.

Well Sad to say that the car is no longer a V8. Vg is back in, runs great, and has a few upgrades, although I still dont have a driveshaft or exhaust. So thats what im working on. and ive been balls into the altima for some reason lol.

Heres the crap part. I was driving the car home from getting the exhaust made, for the smallblock, and I had a rocker nut decide to loosen up, and the rocker kicked sideways, and the pushrod came up, and the lifter popped out as well. I ended up with a bent pushrod, and cam. It was hard to get it out, I was able to slide a fresh cam in and out and spin with no issues. So I need a new cam, cam bearings, and lifters. Bottem end is beautiful, I was luckey there.

K, I'm done for now.

Driveshaft cost $200 to have made. Took my stock 2pc. and a old camaro ds with the correct yolk, he cut my z shaft and didnt end up using it, so thats why I have no driveshaft now.

For the headers I bought a set of hookers, they passenger side cleared, but I had to cut up a block hugger header and some 3in. pipe to work around the steering on driver side. also had to make an oil pan.

most money was spent in the motor and machine work.

What I would have done differently are some 3/4in. subframe spacers, would have made a little more up and down clearance. And would have done a T56 trans rather than an auto th350. But that would have been another grand.

Wiring was very simple, Hei chevys very easy.

I took it out becuase I was tired of working on it. Although I was driveable, It still had qutie a bit more work to do.
I shoulda put the money into some coilovers and wheels and tires, and nitrous.

It was pretty sweet though.
