After more than a year of looking for one, I just got a 97 Black base model 240SX about a week ago, runs great, paint is great except for a few spots where paint cracked from a low speed impact. Before that I used to drive a sub 100 horsepower 88 Honda Accord and the power and handling of the 240 is a dream.

Anyways, my problem is I'm missing my trunk release handle, All there is, is a hole under the seat and in the upholstery where it used to be. I was wondering if any car other than the 95-98 240 SX has the same size handle for the release as well as whatever linkage is neccesarry.

Must make it hard to open the gas tank..From what I have seen, all 240 trunk releases look pretty similar. At least, they look the same; never really looked at the mounting for both.

Thanks a lot guys, I sort of wish I had gotten an SE, but for 5 grand, I couldnt pass this one up.

My gas tank and trunk is are seperate latches apparently, is this diffrent for other 240s?

Yes;Mine, both my S13 and S14 (95) have one latch that you pull for trunk and push for fuel tank cover. Interesting they are different for later models.

After looking up a few brocures, I found that the base model coupe doesnt have the "remote trunk release" that the SE and LE model offer so I have to resort to using my key all the time. I also found I dont have power mirrors, so Its impossible to adjust the passenger mirror while driving, and the driver one...I'll look quite stupid sticking my hand out of my window poking around at my mirror.

Ah, if only I had an SE.
