Hi Ya'll,

I discussed some of these in seperate threads, but I thought I'd lump them all in one thread and see if anyone had any tips and advice.

1. Replace stock stereo(non-Bose) with:

http://www.amazon.com/Pioneer-...=8-10

or

http://www.amazon.com/Pioneer-...r=8-1

Don't really need the DVD function, but I like that it has a front usb slot.

What dash kit do ya'll recommend? The Scosche or the Metra? I heard the Scosche looks better and seems better built?

Next, I'm going to add the exhaust tip to my S. I've contacted the parts dept. at my dealership. Haven't heard back from them yet, but I asked for price and whether or not it was something I could install myself(meaning no saudering, welding etc.) Hoping it's the screw type install....decided to just go with OEM tip b/c I know it will fit. They should sell this for an S right? The Nissan website doesn't list it as available for an S, but I'm assuming the S and SL have the same pipe diameter, so why wouldn't it?

Then, I'm going to tint the 2 front windows. Decided to do this b/c since it's only 2 windows, it shouldn't cost a fortune(about $100) and will make my black Rogue look badass LOL

I'm also considering adding the aluminum or brushed nickel pedals...from what I gather, they just slip over the existing pedals. Does anyone have any experience with these? I like the way they look, but I don't want to install anything that could be a safety hazzard ie: slip off the existing pedal while driving etc.

http://www.amazon.com/ANODIZED...fkmr0

So far, that's all I've got. Also working on the wash/wax regime to keep my Rogue looking new for years to come.

Both of those headunits should be fine. I personally like simple head units with big buttons... those fiddly ones drive me up the wall.

I have my front windows tinted 35%. I like it.

I would hesitate doing pedal covers. All the issues of unintended acceleration due to trapped accelerators, floor mat issues, etc, you do not want to create a potentially dangerous problem. If you are going to attempt this, you may want to look at the factory pedals used in the Sentra SE-R:

i am local to you and have the scosche kit on the way and doing an install with the first headunit you have listed. I am tinted at 20% all the way around with the windshield strip. I am getting ready to finish up an install I started but changed routes. i'd be more than happy to help you out getting parts and installing if you needed the help or wanted it. btw mine is Indigo Blue.

Cool. Digging the interior LED's....how would I do that? Is it just buy led bulbs from somewhere and replace the current bulbs? Can I buy led lights at a Wal-Mart, Autozone etc? I'd do mine with blue I think. These may seem like dumb questions, but I'm a chick and new to "modding" my ride....I have always left everything stock before on other cars, but I'm having fun exploring all the possibilities with my Rogue

That is exactly me, never did anything to my car (even an oil change) before buying the Rogue. Now, I want to do everything myself, thanks to this great forum.

As for the LEDs, I believe the best way is to hit Ebay and search something like "Nissan Rogue LEDs". You should find some sellers selling "interior kits" for the Rogue.

Since, I believe you want to keep the Cargo light the same and only change the map lights and the Dome one, you will need two 194 bulbs (map lights) and one bayonet bulb for the Dome light.

You can buy them separately if you want but it should probably be cheaper to buy all of them from the same Ebay seller.

Thanks for the info....according to the Sylvania site, my part # for the map lights and dome light is DE3175. Will the 194's still work? Also, what part # is a bayonet? I'm looking on V-Led.com and don't see anything called a bayonet. I'd prefer not to to go the Ebay route....haven't been having a great buying experience lately on there(have had to have Ebay refund me $$$ twice already and it takes them forever to do it!!).

Thanks again for the suggestions. I do like those led's

I have bought stuff off of ebay over a dozen times in the past 6 months and had no problem. Actually many of my car mods were ordered off ebay. I try to make sure the feedback is in the upper 90's.

At least in my case, I am comfortable ordering. Stuff is mailed in 2-3 days most of the time. Like the free shipping at times and not paying taxes are a plus!

Yeah, I've been using Ebay for years, and it's been generally hassle-free. I've had two problems that come to mind though, both of which were used computer parts that were misrepresented due to the person selling them not knowing anything about the items they were selling.

But as for Ebay advice for anyone, common sense and intuition get you very, very far.

The internal cabin lights can be switched over to LEDs very easily, here is one example on ebay:

http://cgi.ebay.ca/Blue-LED-do...b8f73

The one thing Im not sure about is quality, but theyre less than 10 bucks for the set so why not give it a try. Ive ordered tons of stuff on ebay over the past couple of years, included a sweet set of shiny side steps for my Rogue and Ive never had a problem, if you order from an ebay store theyre desperate to make you happy so they keep the high staisfaction score, so there is nothing to worry about. Start small and see how it goes, Im sure you will be happy!!

does any one know how easily the air vents come off? like the silver circles? / all of the silver pieces in the front? i want to do some carbon fiber film around them. so i was just wondering if anyone has experimented with this.

relatively simple, a couple of push pins and it wiggles out. the center ones are really easy especially b/c you can take the bezel out. haven't tried taking out the other vents.

Check your local laws on tinting the front windows. The wrong tint can garner a citation or more likely an add on to a moving violation. Cops consider this to be a big one for their personal safety.

errr... I believe you are asking about the custom AC vent / equalizer bezel in the photo posted by RogueAgent08?

That said... I'd like to know where RogueAgent08 got the bezel from as well. Hmmmm wondering if they make other bezel mods for the Rogue?

I would say it's a one off custom piece. I have never seen anything like it... not even for another other Nissan.

It's not that hard... a bit of fiberglass & paint... you can do almost anything.

EHR, I'm considering getting this same system. How do you like it so far? Did you do the install yourself? If not, how much was installation? Did you bypass the parking brake DVD feature? Or can passengers only watch movies when you are stopped?

Thanks!

I'm sure my question to this has been asked or even answered, However the outcome may be my curiosity still begs to ask. Doesn't this steering wheel look like it would fit a Rogue?
if the answer to this is anywhere close to a YES, would it be a bargain buy to locate the same one or one that has the full steering button controls?
ps.I apologize again if the questioned has been answered, I haven't looked.

Swapping a steering wheel is a big deal as it includes the airbag assembly. It's quite expensive too... the stock steering wheel cover with the radio buttons is $550.

I saw those prices and there really hefty on the wallet. My rogue is New, I was thinking that since the sentra or any other newer modeled nissans would have one or even some that would have a steering wheel that could fit another. Rogues are fairly new and there are not as easy finding rogues junked for parts like you would newer modeled Sentras,Altimas,Maximas and even their Vans. Maybe the steering wheel might fit in a rogue.... just me guess. also about the Air bag, I can take it off and reinstall it in a new steering wheel.

Correction:

The steering wheel buttons are available as a separate part. Approx $70. However, it's not really a DIY job as it requires removal of the driver's airbag assembly:

1) The airbag is held in place with special tamper resistant TORX fasteners. You need a special tool to install/remove them.
2) Proper procedures must be followed to avoid damage to or accidentally setting off the airbag.
