my idle is fluctuating from 650 to 900 no backfiring or anything. i did a lot to the motor and before i took it all down it idled fine. i did the cam swap and a few otehr thing while converting this obdII block to my obd1 harness and ecu. now i did use the s14's upper intake manifold w/o butterflie could this be casuing it? also i dont have any of the wires going to the upper connector on the tps. as i cant find them in the fsm and dont know which way they go back into the connector. any other help? is it supposed to idle a little weird after the cam swap? when im accelerating and at wot the engine purrs!

Sounds like the cam(s) are a tooth off...mine is doing this so I have to redo it this weekend.

However; if you haven't wired up the engine properly anything can be happening.
