Silkroad coilovers and...

And these things were harder to get than my 180SX. I first paid for them on Feb 6th. Then after 45 days of BS from Intense motorsports, i got my money back from paypal. Then i tried options auto, they told me the end of the month, but after they did not come they refunded my money same day, at least they kept me in the loop. RHD Japan are the ones that came through for me, they came direct from japan and were here within a week. Good service i recommend them.

Are the RUCA's worth the money? Because I almost went the MR route, but decided why cheap-out on that when I didn't on anything else.

Everything is going on tuesday, hopefully my Rays lugnuts get here in time so i can put these babys on..

Yes, they are definately worth the money, the quality of the pieces, like the heim joints and dust covers rock, and unlike most of the cheap brands out there, my mind rests at ease knowing these things are on there. Piece of mind is worth every dollar.

No, I had enough for the wheels, i sold the sandle to buy the lugnuts

I've always loved TE37's, but i'm a little worried about the tire size. 215/ 35 series, they're rubber bands, But they came on them all stuff has less than 2000 miles on them. I'm really scared for potholes, on the plus side i do have a spare Volk rim just in case.

I'm keeping things mostly stock looking. I even picked up some OEM Canadian hicas sides and rear lip. She is going to get painted next week (sparkling black Mica).

I will post pics when she is done.

Nice, I was meaning to post the day you had the thread listed, but I was at work and got sidetracked with you know... work. Well good luck with everything, looks like it will be a nice set up. Also +1 on the OEM Canadian Rear Lip, I had an oppurtunity to get one, but locals had first dibs. Did you buy the lip new, or used? Regardless I am going to get my hand one one, it is hard considering they are an OEM Option...

I have some questions about my coilovers:

Adjustment: I adjust the vehicle ride hight by turning the cylindric mount on the bottom, so i can go very low in the front (open ended thread), but only about 3 inches in the rear. And once its on the car at a certain height i can't change it without un-installing them?

The upper perch needs to be tightened with the tool, right? If i turn it it compresses the spring and i'm guessing that changes the ride... so when do i stop turning the perch.

Hey man, I had the exact same questions with my Silk roads. For adjustment, I just un-intsall the lower portion, turn threads, and re install. About the top center nut, it comes about half way on, but when I tried to torque them to spec, they were already there, just like the backs are already torqued down. I've had them on my car for about a week and no problems. I asked drift factory about it too and they said it shouldn't be a problem. About the springs, they come with a little bit of play so I tightened up the springs (pre-load as they call it) and measured them to millimeter accuracy. Everything feels good. And the I got it all aligned of course.

intense is the worst. they can't even place a simple order for stuff stateside unless you call them every day and remind them.

Nice setup nonetheless, but the Volks look like they are +40 offset or more. Honda wheels... Correct me if I'm wrong.

Who do i know how much to preload them, wouldn't that effect the ride. What is Spec on those upper center nuts?

I asked the same questions you did. I preloaded them to where the base of the spring wouldnt move around too much. From there, i measured the spring perch to perch and matched them. Then i tighted the locking nut on the lower perch. Then I matched the spring to mount distance. If you try to turn the top center nut, the whole top perch and spring will spin. I got my dad to hold down the spring and top perch and they were already torqued to about 30ft/lbs. I was told spec was 20-40 ft/lbs. I looked at drift factorys kei office install and the top nut looked the same. My email is [email protected] . You can email me if you want some measurements to base off of. I'm going to be lowering it tonight so if you catch me before, i can get them to you.

^ ^ thanks dude. If i were to install the rears, screwed all the way to the bottom (as low as possible) how much lower than stock would that be? I'm trying to figure out what a 2.5 inch drop would be.

Yup +40. I have some spacers. We will see what they look like and i can always sell them and get new ones.

Again, I hvae mine on an S14 so it might be different. I have about 4 and a half inches from locknut to locknut on the rear and my fender is about an inch above my stock tire. Thats going to change in a couple of hours. The front has about an inch less gap than the back lock nuts, but sits just a tad higherthan the rears because i want the flat look, not the rear high than the back.

And if you lower the back all the way, your wheel will be tucked about 3 inches into the wheel well.
