They are learning that to be competitive you need to have lower priced cars with alot of options and tuneability (g35c/sedan) Those 2 cars are now what inifiniti is known for. No one even cares about the Q anymore.
Wow man, youre wrong on this one. So wrong its crazy!

I do agree that the Q is long forgotten. Its time sort of came and left, and Infiniti has failed twice to capture the original magic -- unlike Lexus, BMW, and MB, they kept changing their target customer. Its now sort of a leftover product... and because it often sells $5-$10k less than the Lexus LS430 (out the door) it also makes it an excellent luxury value. I still prefer the M45 and new Cadillac STS, however.
Also, the biggest sellers at Lexus are the LX and LS. The top sellers at Cadillac are the Escalade, STS and DTS. And the top sellers at Lincoln, Chrysler, and Mercedes-Benz are the Navigator and Town Car, 300M/300C, and E-class, respectively.
A long-term luxury brand makes its big money and big sales on mid and full size vehicles. Focusing only on high-volume low-cost "tuner" cars that could otherwise be sold under a lesser brand results in reduced cachet, upscale appeal, and as a result, lower sale prices out the door. It eventually gives the brand no reason to exist. There's a special way to market and sell a luxury product. This is why Nissan and Infiniti use different advertising firms and have different marketing teams.
I dont mean to be unkind, but you really need to investigate further into how the luxury market works. Its highly subjective, unstable, and no, a dentist (typical customer who can afford such vehicles) doesnt give a shizzlestick about tuning his Acura RL.
Infiniti got the ball rolling again with the G35 and FX. Followed it up with the QX56 and soon the new M45. After that THERE WILL BE ANOTHER full-size luxury car. But it won't be called the "Q", according to Grubbs Infiniti.
