I'm having a few problems with my latest purchase. I've already run out of gas once because of a defective gas gauge. (I already posted this) The dealer has the part on backorder.

The newest problem is that the car hesitates a little when I am slowly hitting the accelerator. It seems like it struggles. Almost like I'm pulling something heavy. It does not do it all the time. As soon as I hit the accelerator hard it takes off no problem. It's just under normal acceleration it is not smooth and I almost have to hit the gas hard to make it go. I already tried fuel injector cleaner. Does the possible oil burning problem have anything to do with that?

I've also noticed that during normal acceleration that 2nd gear is very short in my car, much shorter that the rest. It goes through 1st fine then 2nd, then it shifts to 3rd almost immediately. Almost like it skips 2nd. It does go to 2nd, but only for like one second or two. Is this normal?

This experence has been a little frustrating because this car has been nothing but little issues since I picked it up about 3 weeks ago. (03 w/52K on it) I had to have a hood hinge replaced because the hood did not close properly on one side, the gas gauge problem is still not resolved, something is loose around the sub-woofer that rattles, and there are SO MANY little squeaks and rattles in this car that my Acura or my Q45 never made. It just doesn't feel like it was a solid built car. Am I being to critical of this car or does everyone else have the same little rattles. Is this typical?

I traded in an 03 Acura TL type-S because of an auto transmission problem that they are known to have (I already replaced on transmission and the 2nd one was sliping again)

The reason why I bought the M was because I had a 2000 Q45t that I put 203K miles on with no issues EVER, and the fact that I loved these cars when they first came out.

Anyway, I just needed to vent. This board has been very helpful to me so far with a few other things. I hope someone can help me out with my concerns. Thanks all! Happy New Year!

Been thinking about an M myself and reading up on them. It might be that your TCU needs a reflash to take care of the transmission issue. From what I've read the "sluggish" transmission is the sign that you need the reflash.

I don't think there is a car out there today that doesn't have it's share of squeeks and rattles.

I GOT MINE A WEEK AGO 03 WITH 35K NO PROBLEM YET, BUT IT DOES RATTLES A LITTLE, DRIVER SEAT SQUEAKS. RATTELING PROBLEMS RELATES DUE TO THE STIFF SUSPENSIN. DRIVING IN THE CITY WITH BAD ROADS WILL DO THAT TO THE CAR. I JUST HOPE THAT IT WILL NOT GET ANY WORSE. TRY NOT TO HIT TOO MANY HOLES LET THE AIR OUT OF TIRE A LITTLE. I HAD WRX SUBARU WITH ALL SEASON PERFORMANCE TIRES ON IT AND I REPLACE THEM WITH HIGH PERFORMANCE TIRES "KUMHO EKSTA MX" ( SUMMER DRY/WET TRACTION ONLY) VERY STICKY TIRE. RIDE OVER BUMPS BECAME VERY SMOOTH DUE TO SOFT STICKY RUBBER COMPOUND. IF I DID NOT HAD TO DEAL WITH SNOW I WOULD PUT KUMOS ON MY CAR.GOOD LUCK.I FEEL YOUR PAIN.CAUG.

I had the driver seat rattle in the begining, but resolved with oil based treatment

I raised my seat to the max heigh and moved it all the way to the front. I removed the leather velco on the elbow end of the seat (under the center console). I did all of this from the back set. I used wd40 and and later used a grease base.

I'll get a pic later. I'm horrible at describing this kinda stuff.
