Hi everyone!

I have an '02 I35 that i love! I still take it to the dealer for all ther services...I was there last week and i had mentioned that the car didnt have the same "zip" lately. The dealer checked it, did the standard oil service as well as an engine flush, and the car still seems to be the same.

The dealer did mention that the condition of the tires (2/32 and 3/32) on the fronts could be contributing to the sluggish acceleration...any thoughts?

Thanks!

so what else do you think it could be? Could it just be the car isn't the same due to age...it is 6 years old?

I am just trying to understand what if anything I can do.

Thanks!

Has the car ever had the spark plugs changed?

is the CHECK ENGINE light on??

i'd say either the plugs, or you need to run a BG44K fuel system cleaner thru your next tank of gas...that is if the dealer didnt already do that for you.

Hey- thanks for all the input...I never know what to say or do at the dealer..

The check engine light is NOT on...and I just recently had a engine flush...not sure what that entails. Is the fuel system cleaner something I can do myself.

And I dont think the spark plugs have been changed...but not sure.... how often would you need to change them?

Thanks again!

The owners manual would say, but I change mine at least every 30,000 miles. I use the stock platinum plugs.

If it's actually throttle response that's poor and not just acceleration in general, you may have a problem with your electronic throttle system.
