Apparently its organized commuter hitchhiking. A novel idea! Has anyone tried this?

No slugs for me. Of, course, I don't live in a metro area. All I ever see is hitchikers, and none of them look clean enough for my passenger seat.

Don't get me wrong, I stop for stranded motorists, and have changes a few tires for strangers, in parking lots. I have even "lent" my spare tire to someone, to get them to a gas station, and used my jack to change a tire for a lady, that didn't have one.

I'v picked up a few hitchikers, but have decided to stop, because of safety reasons. My best friend from high school was shot twice, tied up, and left on the side of the coad for his Celica.

Yeah, in my town it wouldn't work either (Spokane WA currently). The homeless and various drug-addicted bums seem to outnumber legitimate commuters.
