I found a tuner chip that plugs into the computer for 50 hp and 50 torque its 69.99 its on slrmotorsports.com I'm wondering if anybody has used this product and has gotten good results from it and if theres any drawbacks to it it says it gives you 6 more miles per gallon also. I dont know if any body has heard about it and knows if the install is easy or not and if you can add the cobb on top of it also?

slrmotorsports.com thats the website, i dont know it seems pretty real and convincing to me, I'm assuming its an actual small chip you plug into the computer, different from a whole ecu and different from like a cobb or a throttle controller, which is why the price would be 69.99 and not a couple hundred also the company has been around since 1993

Just google them like issue with "slr motorsports chip scam" Just remember if it sounds to good to be true probably it is. Maybe check BBB for claims against them.

It is probably just another "resistor chip". Time to time another thread shows up here with chips like this. Just send an email to them and ask for a picture how it connects to the car. Most likely they will tell you no sliced wires etc etc. You can try this and let us know. Can garantee if you send it back after you realize this is a mistake you won't be able to get a hold of them and won't see your money again.

***EDIT*** Just went on their site. Hhahaha it gives you the same power gain if you drive a Geo Metro or if you drive a G35/G37. LOL Do you still need to be convinced.

Also the site is brand new. How do you know they are in the business since 90's?

That's to hopefully knock some sense into you..

People spends Thousands to get those kind of gains. A $69 chip will not do this.

But, if you don't believe me, go ahead, buy it and report back!

no you too are both right thats happened to me with like buying shoes and stuff too they say its authentic and they have a return policy but theres no phone number on the site and they can refund your money then they just done respond its annoying your right and the geo thing with the gains being the same is a joke your absolutely right and im glad that they have forums to discuss these things, now after that i have a question about some other parts like the cobb access port i just found out that you cant put it on your infinti unless you have the 6mt and that you have to have all stock set up intake exhaust everything like that???? all confusing to me if this is the case whats another tuner chip or ecu that i could use to go with installs like an intake and exhaust. do you guys have any ideas zozo I'm familiar with you you know your s*** you have to have some insight on this

LOL

Ok here is the deal. You don't need 6MT. You can have stock engine and you still gain.

You can select a basic map if you wish or go for a costum map. It depends what kind of mod do you have. If you really want to gain som this is a good one for you. Cobb does a good job on bunch of other cars too.

Send Red Det an email. He'll hook you up with one.

Suby has it on his 07G35X. He is happy with it. He might chime in.

BTW what's up with the paint? Did they fix it for you?

hahaha well the paint would have mattered except i moved back to syracuse so i have to face winter, i got a garage, but salt is just so wonderful to cars these days you know, as far as fixing anything they didn't do anything just said it was a black car and slapped some wax and polish on it, which yeah i was being kind of anal about it and i shouldn't have, i wanted the convertible and i wanted a sports model so i was trying to make a bigger deal out of it than it really was i bought some good wax and polish the brand i believe is blackfire its amazing, and yes im talkign with red det over email about some parts i asked him to get me a list of G37 parts as far as suspension engine and tuner parts, i just bought an intake which is a start but i would def like to do a lot more since i couldnt buy the sports model i would sure like to turn my x into as much of a sport as possible my car only has 16000 miles on it so i would like to do much more to it but thanks for the help and advice

Nice how do you like snow? LOL

Whenever you install anything make sure you do it right. Don't cheap out on anything. Don't shortcut. If you install suspention parts get alignment. If you install intake whatch for the maf sensor. Other then that you shold be fine.

If you do it yourself take some pictures and get a DIY on the forum. Somebody else can benefit from it.

Use a third party site. Like Photobucket.com and load it up to that site. It will give you an option under the picture after you uploaded it. Copy and paste that link to the post here at Nico.

i really want someone to buy one and try it.

your best options and easiest for tuning are either bullydog power pup. or cobb accesport. each at different price with different features.
