Hey guys I have noticed that when I manually up-shift on my 7 peed auto it is significanly slower than when the trasmission is left in auto mode. Downshifts are still very quick. Is this normal? Is there anything I can do about it?

Most likely because the tranmission is set to "slip" more to allow for quicker throttle response. It decreases the pressure a little I believe. trade offs. Hopefully transgo will come out with a shift kit for the 7AT like they have for the 5AT. I love it.

I think he means the delay is longer when you upshift compared to downshifting...I've noticed it too.

Infiniti automatics tend to override the drivers' input when engine rpms will not match transmission rev output. Basically if the computer thinks what you want to do is a bad idea it will not allow you to do it....sometimes a bad/annoying idea but it is smart enough to not allow it to be damaged by bad decisions.
