Hey guys,
I wanted to let you know the results of switching the direction of the rotors this past weekend.
Before the switch, the rotors would brake wonderfully, but there was some rough feedback to the brake pedal during braking. In addition, perhaps due to the rough feedback, there was a whirring sound during braking, somewhat similar to what you hear when your tires go over the slotted section on the side of the road (the whirring sound would diminish as the car slowed down). My guess, this was the sound of the slots against the brake pads.
After the switch, my rotors are in the same direction as the rotors on the 350Z S-Tune picture above (which is also the way Brembo recommends it apparently). The whirring sound has all but gone away, the rough feedback is almost all gone, while the braking is as good as before if not better than the other direction.
I am glad I changed the direction of the rotors, although it does look different than everyone else and does not look as "cool". We had a Nissan meet this past weekend and every Z and 240 there had their rotors in the direction I originally had it (in the picture at the top of the thread).
Thanks again for all of your input and feedback. And many thanks to Vkoslak for helping me switch the rotors.
