I recently purchased another Nissan Rogue this time a 2017,
In the glove box I notice a slot that’s for some purpose but what?

I don't know about 2nd gen, but first gen had a slot where a flat plastic dividing piece could be ordered and installed to divide the back part of the glove box into two separate compartments. If the same is true on 2nd gen, I'm sure any dealer could look up the part number for you and then you can search the internet to find the best price.

Thx
This looks like a grove to hold something not so much a divider

Funny, I just noticed this same slot/groove on the left side on my 2019 rogue this weekend.

It's a card holder. I did not find any image for the 2014-2020 model, but this is a scheme of the previous version.

Yes, that's exactly it for the first generation. I thought OP was referring to the slot into which the removable partition (item C) would slide into.

Honda might make a better CVT, but Nissan wins with a better glove box, and it's not even close.

Actually, on the 2019 the "card holder' is inside the glovebox on the left wall. As long as we are talking about strange things, are the two clips inside the console box door lid for pens? Cables?

I used them in my 2013 Rogue for a pen and a sharpie marker.

I counter this. Nissan doesn't offer a lockable glove box for the Rogues at all, whereas Honda offers a lockable glove box on all its models. Honda makes better CVT and glove boxes. I can't trust any valet with the Rogue since it lacks a locking glove box.

Ex-valet here, you’re right not to trust valet :tisk:
