Sloppy Transmission Shifting !!

Discussion of Infiniti's amazing (and underrated) sport-luxury crossovers, the EX35 and EX37. For 2014, the EX series will be renamed QX50, in line with Ininfiit's new naming conventions.

Do any of you 2010 EX35 owners have a problem with the way the 5-speed auto. transmission shifts when you give it some gas but not flooring it or just tell me how you feel about the shifting itself ?

Mine feels 'normal'. It shifts when it is supposed to shift, unlike some other MBZ when it just stays in 1st forever in the parking lot. I think the EX's 5 speed transmission is very mature.

Are you referring to the short shift to 2nd it does once you start rolling at low throttle angles? Putting the box in DS and/or selecting 1st gear will give you more control. The short shift is an attempt to save gas.

Other than this feature I find the box works pretty well. I try an anticipate when I will want more control and drop into DS and/or manually shift to a gear in advance.
