My shifter is really sloppy and wobbles around a lot when I drive, so I want to stiffen it up with a better transmission mount (Nismo, Peak Performance). Is it a bad idea to do a Nismo transmission mount with stock engine mounts? i.e. will it cause undue stress to any part of the driveline?

Any other suggestions on how to get the slop out of my shifter? I'll probably pick up some random Ebay short shifter as well, or maybe a Megan one.

are you talking about wobbles due to vibration? Like when you're driving down the highway? If so, a nismo mount will make it worse as the engine vibrations will be transferred even worse.

If you're talking about the shifter having play in it, like when you're in gear and the shifter can still move a good amount left and right. Then your bushing needs to be replaced.

I suggest that if you decide to do a short shifter, to get a B&M shifter. They're good quality, and the eBay and Megan ones I just don't trust.

There's a good bit of both, when I'm driving down the highway and play when it's in gear. Is there a good way to eliminate the wobble when I'm driving down the highway?

Which bushing is that, exactly, and should I just go with a new stock one? Or do they sell aftermarket bushings for better shift feel?

Thanks =D

the bushing is the one on the end of the shifter when you pull it out.

as far as eliminating the highway wobble, I would't really worry about it. Our shifters are directly connected to the trans, which are connected to the motor. You're gonna get vibrations through it. And stiffer mounts just make that more prominent.

Is it true that a company makes a brass shifter bushing, is this true and if so does anyone know the company? I would like to purchase one.

This is my opinion: get Nismo motor and transmission mounts, a B&M shifter, and a shifter gasket from the dealership. Install and your shifts will be as tight as a virgin's cooch.
