Is the tensioner moving? Its not gonna stay open, you have to hold it open

Holding it open is the hardest part

Ya I was looking at that, but my setup looks a bit different. I think there is another pulley or just a pulley in a different place on the 3.5 vs the 2.5 I'm not sure though, Do you know which pulley it was that YOU had to move in order to get the belt loose, because the FSM says the tension pulley, and Dangeris says the Crank Pulley. I'm confused because none of the pulleys move.

5 1/2 hours so far

But whatever pulley that was being pushed on... What was used as leverage, Was it the pulley directly under the alternator or the one below that. Does it push up without any loosening of anything

Done for today, ran out of sunlight. Start up again tomorrow. Total of 9 hours working on this, no breaks. I should probably eat but I'm just thirsty.

Everything is hooked up and ready to go except the serpentine belt, I can't for the life of me get the tension pulley loose. I tried with all my might pushing it in every direction. I am still not sure which way it goes or how. If anyone with a 2.5 has some input preferably with pictures but anything is welcome I'd love to hear it thank you

Me and my brother got everything finished by about 12am. Only problem was that my engine started smoking. We believe this was due to me spilling coolant on my headers while trying to screw in the bottom bolt of the alternator.

I'm going to fire up again in a few minutes and check to make sure everything is okay

Are you sure it was coolant?

When i first fired up the car after the installation i could taste the funk in the air. it smoked and smelled for about 15 mins.

I bet that happens when new cars are driven off the assembly line.

^that is a guess throck!!

Ya well I'm sure it was a mixture of both the coolant chemicals and the headers being broken in. As we were watching we saw the headers changing colors so we figured they were being broken in. It was just for such a long time we were scared something was wrong.

Anyways I have a question. I didn't do the cutting or anything because my electrical skills suck (why my led turn signals keep going out), and so the SES light came on and the code 420 popped up on the OBD II. We deleted it, and about 25 miles later it popped up again (haven't scanned to see if it's the same code or not)

I was wondering what code should come up without moving the O2 sensor, and does it come back on for you guys. I'm planning on taking my car to Stillen on Monday and see if they can finish the install for me because I don't want to see the light, but I don't have the guts to cut and solder and all that

dont do that crap

just get the bd tuner...

Depending on the driving you do it seems to throw the light more often.(just my observation)

If its highway driving the light seems to not come on for 100 or so miles maybe more.

but if you are doing city driving or a lot of lugging the gears on 55 mph 1 lane roads then it will throw the code quickly...

i posted a pic of my bd tuner just before i cleared the code and it said what the error was. You can find that on the bd thread.

Okay cool thank you. Ya I want the BD Tuner, I just don't have the cash to buy it yet. I understand there is a 30 day trial period but still, that's only 30 days of not having the light, then I'd have to give it back because I couldn't afford it.

I was hoping to get an exhaust made next to finish up the I/H/E combo but maybe I'll have to buy the tuner first.
