When I punch it in first from a stop, the Q will turn the rear tires over, sometimes several times (depending on the surface).

However, recently I noticed that even with perfect traction, it feels like it's "slipping" for a split second (it goes, but not as hard) when I first nail the throttle, then it feels like it "hooks up" and pulls real hard. I've had a "spotter" watch the rear wheels to see if I'm losing traction (I'm not) and I marked the rim/tire to see if the tire is "slipping" on the rim (it's not).

Could this be a torque converter problem? Any other ideas?

You use a Consult to graph the engine rpm vs turbine sensor rpm vs speed sensor rpm in 0.01 second increments.

The speed at which the TC output catches up to the TC input is a function of torque and ATF viscosity. And of course the tires friction

The condition of the engine [cleanliness and injector balance] just off idle is important in delivering every single pound foot of torque.which off course gets multiplied 9.85 times by the gears and 2 times by the TC below stall speed.

Maybe the LSD kicking in?

I can feel mine "bite" if I push it hard.
