Hi Friends,

My SLIP-VDC OFF-RAS lights came on one day when i started the car out of nowhere. I did some research and lot of people are mentioning about worn brake pads. I have had the original PADS/ROTORS on my car so finally changed all 4 pads (kept the rotors). Looked at the brake oil and it is full as well. Lights went off after a day (not the same day).

Then came back ON again a week ago and have been ON since. I have not taken it to the dealer so have not run the diagnostics.

Has anyone experience with this???

This is what my mechanic pulled from the scanner. He has a bit advance scanner than the ones on Autozone etc.

U1000 - Can Communication Circuit
U1109 - Battery Voltage Out of Range

Anyone has idea what these codes are?

The second code might be the root of all evil encumbering you.
How good is the battery? Anything older than 3 years is unfortunately suspect with our cars.

The battery is about 1-2 years old - when I am not driving I put the car on trickle charge to avoid drain.

The trickle charger shows fully charged etc. I have not had it taken out last 2 days as I have been driving around and lights are still ON.

Should I try disconnecting the battery altogether and connect it again to the car?

I'd do that. It's relatively simple. And you'll get to check both terminals for looseness while unhooking the battery.

I think it's worth a trip to the auto store to have it checked to see if it still has all the amperage required (maybe not an issue if it is still starting the car) and also to check the alternator. Are those in the title the only lights on or is the battery light on as well?

Hi @yomoms16 - what codes did you had when you replaced the CAM sensor?

@MZH. My code was p0340. If i remember correctly. My car was hard to start and gas mileage got really bad.
I googled that code you have and mostly im seeing guys had to replace the. ECU

Seems as though these cars do weird things when their is any type of electronic or electrical problems
