Does anyone else have this problem. When ever I accelerate hard the slip light goes on at the top of the gear and the engine gets retarded and all accelleration is deadened for about a second between gears.

Any way to turn that off - and is that suppose to happen. I understand that they have slip prevention to prevent losing control - but this seems a little excessive.

Thanks - Andy

Love my M45!

That feature is called VDC. I have an 04 and the button to turn it off is to the left of the steering wheel. When the feature is disabled, you should see "VDC Off" on the instument display panel.

Yes, that is the VDC feature. Be careful turning it off and flooring it around turns. Your rear end WILL slide out from under you.

Time for some sticky tires too!

What tires do you currently have on the car?

VDC can be turned off, but not slip control. They are two nice safety features, but there are times when I'd like to turn them both off, so I could make my way through corners with more of a controlled slide.

Purely a function of tires, the tires have to slip BEFORE the system engages.

Using tires more than 6 months [8,000 miles] leaves them too hard from heat cycling.

Under normal usage, sticky, max performance tires do not turn into hockey pucks after 8k miles. His tires are either just plain worn out, very old, or are not sticky to begin with. Add wet roads to the mix and most tires will slip very easily too.

Most likely!! The reason for my previous post.

That is the reason that I leave my VDC on all the time and only turn it off when I really want to!

Hey guys it sounds like it's more than just tires. Going by Afoots comment, it seems like he/she is getting the light at the top of the RPM's not at the lower. I've punched it and i get this problem at the low end, not when the car is about to shift to a higher gear.

That is correct - When I hit the top of the RPM curve that is when the engine dies down....
