The FSM states to torque them down to 14-16Nm, then put a mark on the nut and cap and proceed to use a protractor and torque them down another 60-65*. How and where exactly do you use the protractor? Do I hold it in place up to the torque wrench handle and turn until I get to 60*, or to the mark or what?....which seems like it could be inaccurate because its hard to measure out and hold in place. Would've been alot easier for Nissan to just give the actual torque. Does anyone know what it is? or maybe theres a reason why they say to do it this way....what you guys got?

i always use a torque angle finder tool. Im not sure the proper name for it. It attatches to the torque wrench so you can get the degrees perfect. I bought mine from snap on and i think it cost couple hundred dollars. There are also cheaper models out there too.

wow really? Those bungholes, I called both Advanced and Auto Zone and asked for a torque angle protractor and both said they had no idea what they were. I guess a big word like "protractor" threw them the morons off. Thanks Carl, I'll have to actually go in there and find it myself.

Are you torquing down factory bolts or ARP rod bolts? If ARP, use their specs (and lube) and not the FSM specs.

I just put mine on with an impact gun.. ran it down until it stripped the threads and backed it off a quarter turn.

Love the use of "bungholes" lol.

I think the RB25DET has a regular torque spec? God knows, if it doesn't I hope mine doesn't fall apart. I have no idea where I got the # from.
