on the `09 coupe,,,

I've only driven cars w/ 17"s,,, there are tons of ridiculous potholes, construction, etc., in my area,,,,,,,,,,,,, I have this paranoia that if I drive over one with an 18" then it will have like a 90% chance for a flat tire,,, and like a 20% chance to bend the rim,,,,

that coming from someone who never owned 18"s,,,,

thoughts?

thx!

well it really depends on how ur tires are too.. i just got 18" and my tires are 225/45/R18 and ive hit a couple potholes, nothing huge or anything, but they didnt do anything to my rims.

I usually just try to avoid em anyway even when i had my stocks on cause its not the best for your suspension either, but i do realize that some are unavoidable. But as long as ur not running on rubber bands then your rims should be fine

Ya, I have 19's with 35 profile rubber bands. I've never bent a rim due to a pot hole, and I drive everywhere spiritedly

With 18s you'll likely be running 225/45...that size of sidewall can take moderate potholes just fine. Ride quality isn't really worsened either (of course, that also depends on the tire...)
