Slight ticking noise... help?

Hey guys whats up? I need your help once again. I have a slight ticking noise coming from cyl. #1. i believe its coming from the head area its a 1995 240 w/ app. 85k miles not sure if timing chain has been replaced. Any help will be greatly appreciated.

I had this noise, never did anything about it and my car ran fine (144K miles).

The timing chain is supposed to be replaced at 100K.

I have a 95 also that has 123K on it and i found that the noise got better when there was the right amout of oil in it.

It sounds like it is coming from the cams like they were not getting enoght oil so i added some and it helped a lot

i took off my valve cover to check things out, everything looked fine the timing chain looks good and while i was in there i went ahead and changed my spark plugs put it all back together and no more abnormal noise, but just in case im going to watch my oil level. I hope nothing goes bad i've had enough trouble with this car but i still love it so much. to fill you in i bought this car three weeks later it spun a rod bearing. sat in the garage for 2 months until i found a newer KA (thanks Josh) just got it back running a couple of weeks ago. but now im seriously going to try my best to save up all i can and turn my baby into one bad mamma jamma!

my car broke a rod bearing too a few weeks ago when my gasket was leaking oil. igot it fixed which was probably stupid on a 110000 mile motor

Mine used to make quite the ticking/lifter type noise (89 SOHC 221k) untill i changed my oil to Mobil 1 5w 30 and changed gas stations then one day it just stopped. Kinda like my check engine light, one day it just turned off. The more i drive it the better it seems to run, and problems fix themselves.
