my drive belt this week i noticed has been a little bit squeaky, i can barely hear it, and i have to be outside the car to hear it, but im scared it may be bad? should i spray some wd40? sounds like a BAD idea lol and its really cold here, maybe thats why? Id look at it but i havent had the chance. I still have another 57000kms until i need to change the belt according to the manual but anybody know the average price for a timing belt change including labour? thx

Really, don't WD40 or oil your belt. It's the squeaky wheel that gets the grease, not the squeayk belt. Lubricant can worsen the noise. There are belt-dressings intended to make belts stop slipping, but they are more like adhesives than lubricants.

Timing belt can be anywhere from $500 - $1000 USD , ive seen prices vary

im not gonna lie, i'm guilty of using WD40 a few years ago on my Honda... it was a good temporary fix but a few weeks later the squeal eventually came back worse with quite a furious vengeance! It needed new belts after that.

I've had that same squeak on my truck for about a year. It only happens when it's really cold. Don't worry about it unless it gets really bad. As soon as the temps go above 40 degrees, the squeak is non-existant. There was another post about this within the past month if you want to see what other people said about it. It may also just need to have the drive belt tensioners tightened.

i would say atleast check the belt deflection in accordance to the hayne manual for eg. 1/2'' within 8 or 12 inches and just check for wear and tear, it might be the cold, it getting old or a lil bit out of adjustment
