I know I am a N00b to this forum *BUT* I did search. I have a 95 240sx KA24DE with 161,xxx miles. The problem I am having is a puff of blueish-white smoke from the tail pipe under acceleration from idle. Does not smoke on start up. Does not smoke after initial acceleration. What I am guessing from reading search results is it might be rings & might be valve stem seal. Any guess as to where I should start? Thanks in advance for any help.

Yeah, a compression and leakdown test.

i would say your rings are going bye bye. but get a compression tester and do each cyl, then put a little oil in each cyl(no more than a tsp, but dont use your good kitchen utensils!) and do the test again. if the #'s go up your rings are bad.
