The Green 94 Q is back and it sure is fine. It needs though a little advice from its Nico brethren:

Upon start up all is fine. Idle is fine and engine is smooth until the gas pedal is pressed. When pulling out the there is a hesitation (almost a cough) and or a bit of roughness till the accelerator is tapped or pushed hard. This goes on for a while.

It feels a little like the mass airflow sensor loose wire thing but no where as severe plus I've cleaned the harness connection. It feels like a sticky throttle cable though I've WD40'ed everything.

Within five/ten minutes its OK.

Any ideas?

Happy T Day

Peter

Cold crank and warm [including ATF warm] is just that, the period when everything is unstable.

We usually find dirt in intake path and used dirty spark plugs and injectors.

Many time the fuel is not adequate for the situation nor is a suitable warm period utilized before driving away.

As you say after 5-10 minutes things seem ok whenever the coolant and ATF reach required operating temperature.

Ethanol does not vaporize well cold, nor does much of US gasoline [especially during the October-November] transistion to winter blend] so it has to circulate thru the engine comparment to warm up what in the tank. in severe cold conditions.

All is fine with the other Q. Same year car. Same gas, same condititons. I'll try plugs. Would the MAF need cleaning?
