Slight grinding when shifting to nuetral.

Hi, I have had a Rogue for about a month now. I love it. however I was going down this long hill..I shifted to nuetral...then I heard some wierd grinding...clicking...from what sounded like the engine......anyone else heard this??

Not on mine. I always put mine in neutral when i can glide but it never happened on my baby.

I don't plan on doing the neutral trick at all.

I am not sure this is a good thing to do with a CVT transmission.

I will not be trying this either. I never understood the reasoning behind doing this anyway and with the CVT it is even more questionable. Plus from a safety stand point when I need some power in a sudden accident avoidance situation I don't want to be in neutral.

Yea...im not doing it anymore either...just dont know if its somthing I should be concerned about... other then that...the thing runs awesome got it with 13 miles..im up to 2400 already within about a month no issues at all..

Why would you do this anyway? The CVT works great for me going down hills. It "gears down" automatically as I go down a hill slowing me down so I hardly ever need to brake to keep from going 20mph or more over the speed limit.

Yep, I made the mistake of doing this the other day. Ever so slight friction sort of noise, so I quickly shifted out of neutral. It was followed by a burning smell. I think its ok though, as I was only in neutral for a few seconds, and the smell went away somewhat quickly. No issues yet (fingers crossed).

Actually im going to take mine in on sat.Its now doing in in drive as well.

but...its only at really slow speeds..I noticed it while driving really slow.. About 4mph exactly.
