When I'm sitting in gear, idling at a stop light, for example, I feel the engine stumble, drop about 50-100 rpm's, and it feels like it's about to stall, but never does. I have no CEL on, but I think this is a lil warning sign of a future problem. I'm meticulous when it comes to my car, so I want to get this taken care of before it becomes a major problem.

I'm thinking a few things could be wrong...coilpacks, egr valve, or IAC valve?

What do you think?

you might want to clean your idle air control valve. I had the exact same problem and when I cleaned the IACV it stopped. I took mine off the UIM and unscrewed the sensor from it and cleaned it with a dremel tool. It was completely clogged up with carbon build up.

also clean your egr tube. while you there pull up your intake manifold and clean the inside part where the egr bolts up to.

Haynes has a very straighforward illustration of how to multimeterthe coil packs and check resistance, voltage, spark etc

Thanks, guys. Well now, this morning, I went out to start my car, started it, and rpm's jumped up like normal and then right back down to 0. Then again, then again. Then finally, I just held the key in the start position until it stayed running. It happened about 3 hours later, and I just basically held the gas pedal half way down when I started it and that seemed to work too. Is this the same issue or something else completely?!?!
