I went to visit a buddy who is a tech at Nissan. He hooked the consult up to my s13 restop and said, "everything looks good exept...the 02 sensor is reading low & the temp is reading at 157 degrees". I had been driving the car for quite awhile in 80 degree weather. I have a Nismo thermostat and a (skinny) 02 sensor. Could that be the problem with the slight backfire at downshifts? If the thermostat is not correct, which is the correct one to let the motor get to normal operating temp? I am running the factorty fan and shroud. I am not running a CAT either. Please help

That is what the car is running at. Could that be the problem? Are sr20det motors happy at 180-185? My blow off valve is re-circulating.

Mine does the same thing, the NISMO thermostat makes no difference. Ive been told its because your not running a cat. I tested that theory by putting on a cat and no more backfiring, but also big loss in power. I used the CATCO high flow cat.

If it backfires excessively you may have it running a bit ritch, best way to figure that out is a day at the dyno with a wideband O2 probe in the tailpipe. If your running an SAFC, youll want to change the fuel curve so its around 12:1, then just set it and forget it, don't start playing with the boost without knowing what your air to fuel ratio is.
