slideout gps mount

i just got a gps unit for Christmas, navigon 2100. its really small and fits into the compartment above the radio nicely. Im looking to see if anyone has an idea to help with an idea i have for it.

i'd like to have a spring loaded mount that is in the compartment above the radio. When the compartment is opened, the gps unit would slide out and then flip up showing the gps screen. how cool would this be???!!? Alternatively it could just be on a track that you pulled to open up and then flipped up too i guess?

anyone out there ever seen anything similar or have a way to make it work?? im not super handy but i can figure things out.
