I drive a bit aggressive normally, and yesterday wasn't much different.
I was making a turn onto a street I've done MANY times before, even in snow. Unfortunately, I forgot one thing... to switch the Pathfinder into 4WD mode. I was in 2WD mode because I was just on a road that had been plowed nice and clear. But the road I was turning onto, wasn't so clear.
Drifted to the left... corrected... no, over-corrected.Drifted to the right... tried correcting again... but NO, over corrected AGAIN.Drifted to the left... and this time, I somehow managed to pick up speed in the other two "correction" attempts, and there was nothing I could do and ended up sliding sideways on the street.
Slid into the street curb, popped the front wheels over the curb... wouldn't be so bad, except the home owner at that spot had a large ROCK mounted into the ground 1 ft from the curb.
BAM, there goes my front guards. Well, it's not "gone" just shifted over. Both mounting arms at the bottom are bent into an S shape, so that on one side, the guard is pushing slighting onto the fender and corner lights, while on the other side, it's sticking out.
Luckily, aside from some bumper scratches (which you can't really tell from the old scratches anyway)... there doesn't appear to be any other damage.
And today... I found my front left tire flat.
So I'm thinking of just unmounting the front guards for now... either have it fixed later or just forgetting about em.
As for the tires... I give up, the current ones are Good Years (SUCKS a**) and they're worn anyway. So I'm going to buy Michelin M/S 2 tires. $700!!!
