How fast were you going? Was it an impact or just the jarring motion from the tires slipping, then suddenly gripping asphalt?

I've slid plenty of times, but luckily the big ones have all been at parking lot speed or while turning at an intersection, 30km/h or slower. Favourite was last winter, make a turn and ended up doing a 720 spin because the rain made a nice sheet of ice.

for parts id go to napa, thats where i go. i bought stuff there and took it to my mechanic that charges $30 an hour for a job that would be at lest 2000 at the dealer, it was only $700 for new calipers rotors and half shafts all parts both sides oh and brake pad all that including labor.

when i owned my scion, i did this turning into a movie thearter parking lot, hydroplaned into a curb smashing my front driverside wheel into it. It messed up a lot of stuff. had to get it towed and cost $8500(insurance picked it up thank god).

like korbeano said just make sure if what u think is broken is actually the only things that are broken

I have an entire front subframe that I need to get rid of with most of the suspension attached. I don't have the struts in case you bent those, but I do have the lower control arms. I can ship them quickly since I know you're waiting on parts. I think I've got a swaybar as well but it's a huge part to ship!

I drive a bit aggressive normally, and yesterday wasn't much different.

I was making a turn onto a street I've done MANY times before, even in snow. Unfortunately, I forgot one thing... to switch the Pathfinder into 4WD mode. I was in 2WD mode because I was just on a road that had been plowed nice and clear. But the road I was turning onto, wasn't so clear.

Drifted to the left... corrected... no, over-corrected.Drifted to the right... tried correcting again... but NO, over corrected AGAIN.Drifted to the left... and this time, I somehow managed to pick up speed in the other two "correction" attempts, and there was nothing I could do and ended up sliding sideways on the street.

Slid into the street curb, popped the front wheels over the curb... wouldn't be so bad, except the home owner at that spot had a large ROCK mounted into the ground 1 ft from the curb.

BAM, there goes my front guards. Well, it's not "gone" just shifted over. Both mounting arms at the bottom are bent into an S shape, so that on one side, the guard is pushing slighting onto the fender and corner lights, while on the other side, it's sticking out.

Luckily, aside from some bumper scratches (which you can't really tell from the old scratches anyway)... there doesn't appear to be any other damage.

And today... I found my front left tire flat.

So I'm thinking of just unmounting the front guards for now... either have it fixed later or just forgetting about em.

As for the tires... I give up, the current ones are Good Years (SUCKS a**) and they're worn anyway. So I'm going to buy Michelin M/S 2 tires. $700!!!

Last January when the southeast got the big snowstorm, i had college classes and like 6 inches of snow and my town has no snowplows...i called the school and they said class was still on, and I was like, "Dayum son." So i hopped in the pathy with the fresh M/Ts on was goin about 30 down my street, went to turn and of course the whole turn was black ice....I drifted about 25 feet all the way through some guys front yard and into his driveway tearin up his lawn and just missin' his truck. Of course i was stoked but i lost it several times so i just said f*** school.
