Sleeves vrs. Honning

Every now and again you hear about someone putting sleeves in there block. What is the advantage to doing so? I know if you use honning to remove all the scraches form you cylinders its like new. If you Boar out the cylinders bigger you get more power, but you need custom pistons. But what is so cool about sleeves? I dont see a need.

hondas use sleeves. the cylinders aren't bored directly into the block, because the block material isn't suitable for cylinder walls.

actually honing is purposely making scratches on the cyl wall so the new rings can seat in, they arent smoothed down, but really its reversed.

with some sleeves you can increase the strength of the cylinder walls...
