Hey 240esX, welcome to NICO. What happens when you go for you lights now as you have them wired up? Do the housings open all the way? If so, where did you splice in your existing switch?

Right now, i have it wired so that when i push the button once to make the lights come up without coming on, it comes up fully like normal, then when i push it again it wont do anything because have it set with a switch (on the green wire) to control the height they go down. What i want to do is be able to turn on the lights while the lights are not fully up, or down, so is there a different wire that controls the high beams, or is there a different way i should be going about this?

There is a way to wire your driving lights to turn on when you switch on your parking lights...if you want to deal with that it's an option. It does look goood if you like the sleepy eye look. Unfortunately I don't know myself the specifics of which wires to cut. I found it a while ago when I was installing my sleepy eye controller (friend bought me the pivot unit so what the heck )

I will try to find that info again for you--I'd do it to my 240 also, but maybe that info can give someone more in the know about 240 wiring enough to figure out what to splice if I can't find it.

not to be an *******, but please search, i found it through search, and just search 'sleepy eye'. theres a thread with a link with pictures and a good write up. its very easy, you just cut 2 wires to do it, and splice in a toggle switch.

He didn't ask how to do to the sleepy eye mod, he asked how to wire it so that the *headlights are on while sleepy eyes are up*. Did you read his post?anyway he's right, searching will find it, I've just been busy. Sleepy eye should bring it up.

yea, i know he was asking how to wire it up to have the lights turn on. maybe i didnt make my post clear enough that if he were to search sleepy eye he would find the thread to make it work.

Thanx for that site and i have used the search and i posted because that link does not show the wires as they are in my car, i guess the wireing changed from 92 to 93 because i have a 93 240sx se and it does not have a silver and blue wire and if it does i can not find it. If you know any other tips it would be grately appriciated.

look for the 5amp fuse in the fuse box. when you see it, go to the back of hte box, thats the wire you cut. its a baby blue wire ( careful, theres a few of em) with silver spots on it. thas what i know, thats what i cut. cut the wire, strip both ends, then put the toggle switch on it. bam instant sleepy eyes with lights on.

Dude, read the post again, it's not hard to figure out. I could do it without instructions after reading it three times - and I have never been in a 240 yet.

Key point - you don't just cut the wire and let it hang, connect a toggle switch to the wire and you'll be on your way

Ok u might just be trying to do it in the wrong order its sumwhat weird to do -

ok so first u pop the lights up and then down to the setting u like for the laziness, then u disconted the circut to the blue/silver wire with the toggle then turn ur lights on

if ur talking about the brown wire with the momentary switch behind the headlights up and down button yes i cut it also.

thats what i did if that doesnt work u probly cut the wrong wire in the fuse box by the clutch pedal
