I emailed APS about painting the IC and they said " The powdercoating has little to no effect on performance."

If you just paint it enough to get it black, IE light touch, then you will be fine.

It's late and I'm jumping in here way late. I don't feel like reading all 62 posts in this thread so I'll just describe my set-up. If someone already mentioned these, I apologize.

Painted my FMIC black. Light coat of flat black Krylon did the trick. As far as guages, I mounted it below the stereo with Blitz Din Panel. It's rather small, and it might be hard to find a gauge that fits now(I don't think Blitz makes that size any more(42mm?). But my turbo timer also sits in this panel. While it is visible if someone looks into the car, it is not visible from others on the road, mainly cops and the cars who think they are faster. The rest of the turbo isn't visible, and externally all that is readily apparent of any mods are the wheels and exhaust. Those who look more carefully will see the Z brakes of course, but few wil recognize it and those that do will probably know it's a popular mod even for the non-turbo'd. Having a sleeper to me is not just hiding a turbo system, but the overall look of the car.

Will this intercooler work if you converted it to water to air? Then you could just place it anywhere.

by the way it's on ebay here for 25$http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors...18646
