ok i know this must sound like a completely off the wall question but can anyone tell me if any of the nissan clutch slave cylinders have a 1.25" max travel or larger

off of any car with the two mounting tabs on opposite sides... thank you for you help... this would be helping me out alot!!

i need to know this direly too! i need to make more friends w/ 240's so I can do this but in the meantime can anyone be a champ and measure this for us? This make the difference if I should look into bleeding better / bench bleeding my master or removing my trans and inspecting the clutch. I prefer the former.

From what I've seen, it usually moves between a 1/2 and 3/4 of an inch when installed and the pedal is pressed.

perfect that's what mine does, just under 3/4". Looks like my problem is contained inside the bellhousing.

just in case someone who knows what's wrong is looking at this, my symptom is
- when switching into some gears, sometimes, the car acts like the clutch is partially engaging, it will grind a little when I actually switch into the gear (2nd a lot!) and then again when i let out the clutch/get on the gas.

If I rev the engine to about 1500-2000 and slowly let out of the clutch from a stop, in 1st, it will always grind pretty badly. I've learned to drive it where I get on the gas at the right point in the clutch travel so it doesn't do this, but when I switch gears while moving, ie 2nd, it will sometimes grind again. I am thinking it physically either the clutch pressure plate or the TOB, and I'll replace both when I pop the trans off but if anyone has insight, it's always nice to have an idea what to look for before going in there.

thanks guys
