alright so i put a red top into my s14 right now and im between breaking it in. ive put probably 150 miles on it. im driving to the store and my clutch just dropes to the floor and i can see my slave cylinder is leaking. so i get a new one at some local store and put it on and still nothing so i adjusted my clutch petal and i kept on doing it till i had pressure and i finally got it then after about 5 pumps i hear the slave cylinder pop and the thing that pushes the pin pushed out of the cylinder. So i got a new one and i only have pressure when the clutch petal is out as far as each one has broken at and if i put it in any i have no clutch pressure. ive gone through 3 new slave cylinders now lol but ive got my money back for all of them cause i said it was a defect in the part. but i think a bigger pin on the slave cylinder will do the job, and prevent the thing that pushes ( idk what to call it right now) it to come out of hte cylinder but i wanna hear what you have to say.

thanksnick

You really shouldnt have to adjust your clutch pedal when you put in a new slave cylinder. (it's hydraulic not a cable) Ive put in over 5 slave cylinders and I never had to adjust the clutch pedal even once. If you cant get pressure in the system you probably didnt bleed the system properly. Dont forget that the 240 has that dampening box that you need to bleed before you actually bleed the slave cylinder. If you bleed everything properly, you should get pressure as soon as you stop stepping on the clutch.

A couple things...Remove the dampener box, its a free mod, just bend the hardline to meet the softline.

Assuming the hydraulic operations are normal, is there a chance that the pivot bolt for the fork has broken? This would cause the fork to move too far when the clutch is pressed and after a few pumps would cause the pin in the slave cylinder to pop out.

Also the pin can be put back in place in the slave cylinder if it has popped out. Will work just fine.
