I don't recommend slamming any doors ever. Assuming you're asking a question (there are no question marks in your post), no, I've never replaced my door seals. It appears to be a simple task, short of sourcing the materials. Do you hear the air getting past them while driving on the freeway or something annoying?

Sorry about ? No air noises per se Yes the car has more outside noise than new. There t 2 door gaskets 1 on door and one decorative felt on door opening. I was going to replace the door one in the hopes of restoring doors ability to close without slamming. As it is the gaskets are compressed and are not able to soften closure. Has anyone done this Andy it helped with just the outside gasket.

The first generation Q has always had heavy noisy doors. Your version less so than the early ones - because the factory added in some sound dampening. I've found the Q's door gaskets to be amazingly durable, so I'm not sure that that replacing the gasket would help with the slamming noise.

A member who's no longer active (Q45Tech) used to swear by a product called "Wurth" that is said to replenish and swell door gaskets a bit. I'd try something like that first. I think this is the stuff. http://www.autogeek.net/wuruca.html

Hmm, I don't think the seal is your issue. It's not so much a shock absorber as it is just a seal for the air.
There's a door latch and door catch. Those can be adjusted. First make sure there's not too much sag in your doors hinge. So open it all the way and see if you can lift it up and down. Shouldn't go more than 1/8th or 1/4" vertically. If it does, you'll want to replace your hinge pins. Once your door isn't moving up and down, then you move onto the latch area. You want to loosen the bolts on the door jam latch hoop and move it in a direction, like down and out usually. Then tighten temporarily and test door closure. It may take a few tries to get it into the right position. Once you get it dialed in, tighten up the bolts all the way and you're good to go! I could be wrong, but I think you should give it a go. You'll save some $$ by not buying seals!

Your door checks are another issue to consider. When I bought my 2000 Q, three of the four doors had failed door checks that I had to replace. Those three doors would not stay open on their own and would just fall shut on your shin if you were not paying attention. The door check has two detents that hold the door either fully open or partially open. I think a healthy door check also reduces the closing speed of the door and would lessen slamming.
