Hey guys,

I screwed up bad today. I was making a left turn little to fast and hit some ice on the road and made me spin and hit the curb really hard. Lucky I didn;t hit any cars. I go out to check and it looked perfectly fine. so I turned the car around and start to drive and notice that my drivers side rear wheel is wobbling pretty bad.

Does anyone now what I broke or do I have to do alignment ?

Thanks in advance.

Could be wheel or hub. Jack it up and spin the wheel by hand, and you'll seewhere the problem is.

The wobble's not the axle. If you bent the axle, the wheel would be crooked, but not wobble.

I'll bet wheel, and maybe more.

I did something similar last winter with my car and just I bent the rim. Found another one at a junkyard for $20.

Here is the Update-

Just changed my spare and cleaned off the dirt and filled the air to 28psi & the rear still wobbles.

Well, the good news is that your spare holds air.

Sounds like you bent the axle shaft. Depending on how bad it is, you may have issues with your brakes or the bearing if you keep driving on it.

The part that spins in the axle housing, looks like this.

Not sure how much you can pick up that part for but it might be cheaper to grab a whole rear axle from a junk yard

lol He didnt bend his axle shaft, if he did, alot more things would be broken.

I think you already said you didnt have a bent, and all of you wheel lugs/studs are all still in tact and tight. My guess could be bent control arm or you tweaked a piece. You really just have to get under your car and check it out to start, you can usuallysee damage. Sounds like your going to have to see someone no matter what for atleast an alignment though.

With a solid rear axle that's about all that he could have done and have a wobbling wheel. Control arm being bent wouldn't cause a wobble it would just be messed up toe/camber and constant not wobbling.
