I got my Versa last January 2007, I have the 1.8 SL Technology pakage model. At that time no Versa's came with a SL badge on the rear hatch. So I'm just wondering if I go to my dealer and ask them to put one on for me or purchase one from them. The question is can they do that for me? or look on Ebay......

Oh I'm sure the part is available for them to order in for you. But I'm sure they will charge you for it.

well... One way to look at it is that it should have come with the SL badge and didn't... any reasonable dealer would just eat the $7 and order it for you.

I agree with Kimber. Anything that should have come with the vehicle should be the dealership's responsibility to provide.

I just yanked the V6 badge off a Passat that I was scrapping. The chrome raised lettering matches the Versa badge perfecty!

Unless you also yanked out the motor why would you put a V6 badge on a car when it doesnt have a V6?

Probably for the same reason I got a Chrome Skull Gearshift knob for my 2000 Kia Sephia which had the word SPORT emblazoned across the side...it's funny.

I had the same problem when I bought my FIRST Versa in March. I later called when I realized I had no SL badges at all on my car and the dealer basically said tough <dookie>. It almost cost me money too! When State Farm had the appraiser come out to decide what to do with my car they thought it was an S model...so when they called to tell me they were going to make it a total loss I was really happy I was paying attention when they were listing off the Make and options...I almost missed her saying, "You have a 2007 Versa S...." and then I was like...oh no...it's an SL!!!

Either try to get the dealer to give them to you or if they're not too expensive just buy them outright...it may save you money down the road...this is the single biggest reason I will NEVER debadge my car, LOL. When I bought The Deuce, I made sure it was properly badged...

Sorry you lose... on the Price is Right, it's whoever is closest without going over. J/K - that was a pretty good guess!

I would figure that there is at least one person on this forum who shaved their badge and doesn't want it anymore, but I guess you'd pay close to $7 to ship it anyway these days.

awww.... :o(

... ;oD

actually... I shaved the SL off the current Camel... I'd be willing to mail them... you'll have to use your own adhesive... but I won't charge you for postage... (I stuck my last badge on with this Elmer's spray adhesive and the dealership couldn't get the lettering back off when I traded the first Camel...)

I put the V6 badge on my car for the same reason Kimber turned hers into a 100 year old airplane... for fun! You know how many people have asked me how I got a V6 Versa?

We were the first buyers of an 'SL' at our local dealership, and we really didn't know what to expect after our 3 month wait for it to arrive. No one mentioned that the Versa had no model designation on it, and the Nissan brouchures didn't show it.

Then a few months later they started showing up with the SL badges......

I had already bought the SL badges for the Nissan Murano and put them on myself.

Never thought anyone would take theirs off and give them away....my set cost $32.00!

eh. Have you seen my backend? They wouldn't look right. I know I have an SL, my insurance company knows I have an SL, all I'm gonna do is probably throw them away when I clean out the garage in the spring.

*shrug*

Well State Farm knew I had an SL too, it says so on my insurance card. Not sure if they were trying to pull something or if the appraiser (or whatever her title was) just missed it when looking over my file...after all...it is only 2 letters.

And no, i haven't seen your backend...but I would imagine sitting down on raised "SL" letters would get annoying and uncomfortable after awhile
