First post here - hi everyone.

I have an 08 SL with the 6 speaker audio upgrade (not the one with the subwoofer) and was hoping you all could help me out. I'm looking to upgrade the audio, and I have a couple of different options in my head, but both of these involve keeping the 6cd changer, because i use the bluetooth and steering wheel controls a lot, so please keep this in mind. Okay, here is what I'm thinking:

1. I'm going to go to the dealership and look into getting the Audio Package (upgraded speakers w/ subwoofer).

2. Get 4 new speakers for my doors, and get a slimline sub/amp combo that is approximately the same size as the one in the Audio Package.

Now, I have a few questions:

1. What is the current wattage of the 6cd head unit? What about in the speakers (minus the tweeters)?

2. If I go with option 1, what is the wattage of the new speakers they put in?

3. If I go with option 2, what watt speakers do I need to look at? Should each speaker's wattage be equal or more than the wattage on the 6cd head unit?

Thanks for answering my questions!

I pondered the same thing when i first got my versa last october. I ended up getting a nice mono amp and 2 10" subs. I built a sealed box for them that fit perfectly where the spare tire goes. I built a false floor to cover the subs then mounted my spare tire on the false floor. Of course your gunna either take out your deck and figure out what wires are for the rear speakers or take off both rear panels and go from the rear speakers.

First i would like to ask you what are you wanting the system to do for you? Also what kind of money are you wanting to put down? The factory head unit might put aout 15 watts rms and thats maybe, i havn't checked. I did not know that there was a factory sub offered with our cars, can u tell me where it goes, or point me to a pic somewhere. are you wanting to run an amp on the new mids and highs or just a sub? These cars have lots of space under the front seats to put amps, Let me know what you are looking for and i can help u out. Before i was running my amps i had a set of kicker rs6's hooked up to the factory HU and they sounded pretty good, and they can handle like 125watts, so if your not running an amp find something that sounds good to your ear, and that wont need alot of power.I do work at a car audio shop and drive a versa so get back to me if you have any questions, about brands, i might even be able to work out some deals.

I asked this question awhile ago about the factory sub. A pic is posted in the thread.

Anyways, you aren't limited to your factory head unit for steering wheel controls. You can get a head unit and get an adapter so they will still work.

You can get a headunit like the one below (I forgot who but someone on here has this one and I'm about to get it..cheaper on Amazon). And there are adapters for the bluetooth and controls.
