That abomination belongs to a guy I know. He spent ungodly ammounts of money on it and it's not that fast. He actually adjusts the idle by screwing with the fuel pressure. He shot half a flywheel through the hood doing something stupid, and his timing belt flops around like a wet noodle. He's almost 40 and still lives with his parents. What? .... he's standing right behind me isn't he?
You live in Gorham? I don't suppose you've been to the mt. washington hillclimb. You would have had a good oportunity to see out ex-rally car balled up on a flatbed.
Well, yes I have been to a couple of the New England Hill Climb events.... but never the Mt. Washington race. It is a complete blast, and next summer my 240 will be part of the excitement. Last summer I was at the Okemo hill climb, and was scheduled to be at the Mt. Filo event, but missed out because of work.
Well, I've lived in Maine for the past 5 years, but I was born and raised in Rutland for my first 21. The Shadow that beat my friend's GTI had a Shelby sticker in the rear window... and this was a few years ago so I don't remember exactly...but it seemed pretty damn fast. Sounds like the owner is a complete tool.
Anyway, was your car at the Okemo event last summer? I was there to see another friend of mine race his GTI. It's a silver Golf... totally stripped interior, slicks, cams, header.... etc...etc... nice car, but not very competitive for its class. The sickest car I saw there was a green Scirocco..... uhhhhh f'in fast car!!!! There was also a nice black Dodge Omni turbo.... again..... sick car!!!
Well, hopefully next year I'll be involved more. The 240 should be good o go by then.
