Seems fishy. It's a geocities site, and anyone can put up a page like that.

Stick to MotoRex, in my opinion.

I am actively looking into ways to import skylines, I have never heard of that guy and that webpage does seem a bit fishy, but are those prices including shipping and clean US title? Anyways, he is right about MotoRex having absurd prices. But has anyone here heard of any other way of going skyline in the states not through MotoRex? Because I know that they got the number of tests (crashing skylines) done in order to become certified, but does this mean that all Skylines are available (after certain modifications to them) in the states due to MotoRex's testing or is it JUST for them and JUST for anyone who gets the correct amount of crashes?

EDIT: I also checked the guy out on Ebay and apparently like 90% of his auctions are private... make what ever you want of that his name on ebay is "o-mega36x"

Currently Motorex is the only company that sells street legal skylines. Other people are able to import them and get them here, but it's a matter of legality, you won't get them on the streets.

Hell, whats a little fraud anyway? Register it as an Altima.

so the only way you will ever see a skyline on the road is if it went through motorex... or is illegal?

MotorEx is the way to go. My friend has a 1997 SKyline R33 that he got from MotorEx. It is built. He dynoed it at 900 hp and runs the 1/4 mile in high 9's. Dont have exact times though.

I may be legalizing "Skylines" in the near future for a significantly reduced price compared to motorex...

Matt is not a scammer. I know him. And legalizing skylines is not that hard, i dunno why everybody thinks it is. All you need is a registered importer, and the diagrams of modifications to do it.

And papers to show to that the vehicle is DOT certified. Which you have to crash a minimal of 2 similar vehicles to do so.

I met one of the owners of Motorex a few years ago. They had a Skyline at Gingerman raceway in Michigan practicing for one lap of America. The guy hands out buisniess cards, not advice. I think on thier FAQ page it details some of the runaround trying to get a modified Skyline legal. Thier prices are reflecting some of the cost it took for the tests and research. The DMV is pretty clueless in Vermont, I'm sure if I had a nice R34 fresh off the boat I could tack on a VIN and register it as a Maxima or something.

That Skyline looked real nice tearing around the track, wish I had some video.

4cefed, What part of Vermont are you in. I'm from Rutland and I remember a black Shadow turbo with the tag, "YUD LUZ".... not yours is it? The car was fast as hell, and it smoked my friend's GTI.

motorex isnt the only place to bring in skylines...my friend has a connection up there into which he can get r34 gt-rs for...you guessed it, $18,000!! the only problem is that if you want to drive it around legally you have to send it too motorex were they will detune your best and make it smog leagal and what not for the wonderful price of....$25,000!! *rip off* i used to live in hawaii and there is a store that brings it in for us people down there. it is called atomics...they can bring down r32-r34's for a reasonable price...only thing is those nasty shipping rates...well thats all...B

Um dude, first of all, Japan DOES have emissions laws. They are just different that the ones in the U.S.

Second of all, Motorex does not detune *ANY* skylines they sell. "Certify" and "Detune" do not mean the same thing. None of the modifications they make have anything to do with performance. It's all legal B.S. to make the EPA happy. Motorex does not make the cars any cleaner. They do things like verify safety componets, OBDII, etc.

That abomination belongs to a guy I know. He spent ungodly ammounts of money on it and it's not that fast. He actually adjusts the idle by screwing with the fuel pressure. He shot half a flywheel through the hood doing something stupid, and his timing belt flops around like a wet noodle. He's almost 40 and still lives with his parents. What? .... he's standing right behind me isn't he?

You live in Gorham? I don't suppose you've been to the mt. washington hillclimb. You would have had a good oportunity to see out ex-rally car balled up on a flatbed.

Well, yes I have been to a couple of the New England Hill Climb events.... but never the Mt. Washington race. It is a complete blast, and next summer my 240 will be part of the excitement. Last summer I was at the Okemo hill climb, and was scheduled to be at the Mt. Filo event, but missed out because of work.

Well, I've lived in Maine for the past 5 years, but I was born and raised in Rutland for my first 21. The Shadow that beat my friend's GTI had a Shelby sticker in the rear window... and this was a few years ago so I don't remember exactly...but it seemed pretty damn fast. Sounds like the owner is a complete tool.

Anyway, was your car at the Okemo event last summer? I was there to see another friend of mine race his GTI. It's a silver Golf... totally stripped interior, slicks, cams, header.... etc...etc... nice car, but not very competitive for its class. The sickest car I saw there was a green Scirocco..... uhhhhh f'in fast car!!!! There was also a nice black Dodge Omni turbo.... again..... sick car!!!

Well, hopefully next year I'll be involved more. The 240 should be good o go by then.

Yes, I was at Okemo, I had the crappy looking white shadow. I was losing second gear, so my launches and times weren't too impressive. I left some nice peg legs out of the sharp turns though. :)

The Omni used to belong to a friend of ours. I help rebuild the engine in it. It used to be pretty fast in it's day.

I might have found a 240 that I can snag on Monday, so I'm sure everyone will be pleased that I'm not driveling on about turbo D*dges.

Sounds good man... what year 240 are you looking at? Will you be racing it?

Next season I **might** have an SR powered 240 to compete with. This will all depend on what I get for selling my truck. If not, my present s14 will have to do. I can't wait to get involved, hopefully I'll meet up with you..... I could use all the help I can get!:D

Well, I'm going to compeate with the shadow untill I wrap it around something bad enough to move the cage. Then Im' done with racing dodges.

I'm looking for a manual coupe s13. There's a guy that's selling one pretty cheap, but I can't even look at it untill Monday. I hope is will still be there. I have to be honest, I've never driven RWD. I've always been FWD or AWD. I know it's a little trickier, so I wanted a KA powered 240 to learn on. I took a couple 240s for a spin and I loke them. I just have to get the feel. I'm more of a rally driver I guess, so I'm pretty used to drifting. I hope that will help me.

I would love to run into you at a hillclimb. Mt. Washington is suspended indefinately, but I usually make it to Okemo, Ascutney, and Burke. I also usually have the support of a service truck from our rally team, so I have pretty much every tool there I'll ever need.
