Some guy named michael bernard emailed me and trying to sell me a silvia that is in port at japan. Has anyone heard of or potentially bought a car from skylineamerica.net? How much trouble is it to get the thing on the road if i get it? I know it wont pass inspection but besides that?

Ive never heard of the company, but from looking at their site, all they do is ship the car and get it thru customs. The car still cant be registered after this process. I havent heard that anybody has done the steps to certify a Silvia (like Motorex has done with Skylines).

Tell this guy to bring it here, title/register it, and then you'll buy it from him.

I know Michaell. He has imported at least 1 skyline in my town and the guy drives it every day. I met his partner and talked with him a good bit last week. I also know his wife/gf Jessie. I also know where him and his partner work (3-4 miles from my apt.). They just do the skyline thing on the side from what I understand. Michael says he can get higher miles S13 Silvias/180sx's for VERY low prices.

According to Michael's partner, Michael knows the ins-and-outs of getting the car legal.
