Hmm, I'm in Westminster and I have a R33 GTS-T motor in my car, but that's about the closest to a R33 I'll get...

I'll be back in town August but would still like to seriously check out the car. Maybe run RB25DET vs. RB25DET and see who wins!

the Skyline oBD1 cars in Japan have tougher standards than in the US even in California. Now In GA we send cars to be smoged no problem they have a had time with the VIN numbers but that is about it

I just got one[R32/GT-R] from RBmotoring. One of the legal DOT/EPA/CARB from the few that the DOT let stand from Motorex.[Have all documents; DMV /Insurance was a breeze since it was previoulsy registered in Cal. It is great. Getting ready to tune with JWT, my good buddies for 12 years. Ported head, R33 crank with V-Spec bottem end. Modified N1s, HKS Cams, MSG 740s. It really runs nice, can't wait to get a good tune; should be on the Dyno Friday or Saturday. I live in Poway. See profile if you want more.

P.S. My other cars are:

*300ZX TT build motor from webbed block[JDM serialize GTP block], Tuned suspension, too much to list here; 700+whp

*200SX-With Pulsar moter, tuned cams and springs[JWT] "Disco" turbo. 320whp on pump gas: SR20DET]

* G35x with intake and cams[JWT]

Obviously addicted to AWD and Nissan power! Hence, my NICO name.

grossspollutor:

1) Visual is on the CARB/EPA certification badge on door panel; no sweat.

2) Smogged with Stock "CATS", it passes fine as long as you have the CARB badge which has the pollution specifications. Since the Smog Certificate info from the DMV will come up as first "smogged" by Referee.

Their is no trick if the car has been Federalized and you do not alter any of the smog equipment.

if you have it registered out of state then technically u can drive it around. but you cant transfer title without CHP approval. which they check your dot epa and vin verification. theres ways around it. i cant explain too much. u can email me at rhdgarage@yahoo if you need some help. i register skylines pretty cheap.

$4 to $9K?

You can't get an RB26 out of a Japanese junk yard for less than $8K[US].

I am good friend with an importer who goes to Japan every quarter.

If you find a whole car with an RB26 in it, you will pay well over $20K.
