I have a MAF from an RB25DET clip a friend got. Is this a good upgrade or pretty much the same as the SR20DET MAF I am running now? I know it is 80mm. I tried to post in the tech forum but no one replied.

It is a pretty good upgrade but it also depends on which MAFS you got. There are actually 3 different R33 RB25DET MAFS. The one with 3 pins is the best since its wiring is easiest while the one with 5 pins is no big deal.

The MAFS will support up to 350 hp and the later model ones are a little more accurate at measuring air.

Here are the parts numbers for the three different units:ECR33 Early Model 1993.08 to 1995.01 22680-02U00ECR33 Late Model 1995.01 to 1996.01 22680-31U00 ECR33 Late Model 1996.01 22680-31U05

That MAFS is actually from a few different cars. It can be found on Nissan SY31 Cedrics, R31 Skylines, early 90's Maxima's, the Infiniti M30. I dont know nearly as much about this MAFS. Are you sure the MAFS came off the clip? Or just came with it on the side. It may be off of an R32 RB25 but thats not likely.

The ECR33 MAFS is an upgrade over the SR MAFS because it will register power up to 350 hp while the SR stops at about 280. The later model ECR33 MAFS with the three plugs supposedly reads air better at low RPM's when compared to the Z32 and early ECR33 MAFS.

As for wiring, the red box is the 12 Volt power source, the blue box is the ground and the purple box is the output signal. I dont know what the orange box does exactly, though that wire is not used on Z32 MAFS conversions so I doubt its needed with the ECR33 conversion. However it does show that it is a negative wire so if you wire everything up correctly and still have MAFS issues, try grounding that orange wire.
