You want to remove a 278HP V-8 and replace it with a 277HP TT I-6? I doubt it's easy.

for the money it would cost to swap in a bone stock RB26 with RB25 transmission you could have a nicely built up and boosted VH45.

Yeah, there's a difference between "cabable" and "capable on a budget". Are you saying there's a RB26 with stock internals bumping 1000hp?

No, but there's quite a few 2JZs (Supra motor) with stock internals doing it. :)

But for how long? Not a 100K, I bet.

Probably not, but a 181 cid motor with stock internals making that kind of power for any length of time is remarkable. It is truly an amazing motor. Cid for cid, there is nothing I'm aware of that's as strong in stock form. 800 hp on stock motors is ho-hum these days. Mine makes ~475 hp (411 rwhp) with just boost control and an exhaust, and gets driven regularily on racetracks.

If I didn't live in CA, and still had the ambition to take on big car projects, I'd give some serious thought to building a GS300 with a 2JZ in it. A 600 hp 4 door sedan would be a lot of fun. :)

It would be the best GS300 in the US. Add the Supra brakes and upgrade the suspension, and you would convert many Infiniti lovers. Wonder if the manual fits? I think it was a JDM option.__________________Brian1995 Q45 & Q45t & 2000 Q45

I don't know if anybody else has built one in the US, although I'd bet somebody has. I know of several Supra powered SC300s running around though. If you use the 5 speed out of the NT Supra or SC, strength would be an issue with a healthy 2JZ since they aren't the strongest transmissions. The 6 speed from the Turbos is bulletproof, but might not fit nicely. Nothing like bench-car building.....

Well there is one guy that put a 2jz motor in his Ls400 He swapped out the twin and put a monster single turbo and has achieved 500hp with it.

I say if he did that with custom mounts then I say you can put a Rb25 or 26 in a Q. the only thing I think you would run into problems would be the five speed conversion. Which I guess now days isnt to hard to do anymore.

here is the Ls400 monster

Wow nice Thread.... well first of all the RB swap in the Q would most def. be a monster!! But have you looked at the prices to MODIFY the thing? yeah for like a stage 1 is close to 9 Gs for a excellent Set-up. I've never heard anything about a supra being able to gett 1000 HP with stock internals. As for supras i think the max you can go is about 700-850 with stock internals. Like someone said up above.. Save the money and bult a boosted Q.

They're actually a hand full of Skyline's in japan that sell the RB to go with the Q motor. Look at the Indy Q motor... 650 ALL MOTOR! With not too many modis to the block. 165 average speed on the tracks?? I know someone with a Skyline in the city of Corona and in Miami... He said the power delivery with the VH is more powerful than the lighter turbo'd RB. What does that tell me.. I'm thinking to myself as.. " WOW, the Q motor has potential.. coming from a skyline owner... unbelievalble. " In conclusion... built the Q.

There have been supra motors with 1000 hp on stock internals. Someone local had one.. I don't know how reliable it was, or how long it lasted, but it can be done...

It's just a big **** waving contest, if you ask me. So what your engine can handle 1000 hp on stock internals.. It would still be better to race prep the engine, anyway...

The Q engine has TORQUE.. It's smooth as hell, to the redline... absolutely 0 vibration.. It doesn't have the mesquito sound, etc... Let's get some big HP vh45de's... the engine deserves it, our cars deserve it.

wow.. 1000 hp stock interenals... that's like a suicide mission. Like you said I would of Race prep the motor. I aslo agree with the smooth ride! 140 feels like chillin at 65 :) Girlfriend doesn't complain how the road is bumpy when doing make-up cause she doesn't feel it...

Is it me but when people first ride in your car and your dippin around the 100+ range and you go.. "Ever gone to 130? " then they look at the Speedo. "OMG i thought were going like 70" I LOVE IT!

Exactly. I'm not hating on other cars or anything, but.. There is something "lost" in big hp rice rockets...

Our car has complete refinement (espically after I add dynomatt and make my cabin vault like)

I want big REFINED horsepower.. I've been in and ridden plenty of big power cars.. Most of them lose smoothness, at the addition of power. I want 0 rattles, OEM smoothness, with way more power.. I am looking for M5 like refinement, and power. Not some cheap beater rattletrap that can run 11s.. Anyone can do that...

LOL... Your juss like me. I want to go with the Sleeper Look. If i had a turbo.. i want a Black intercooler. Making people think it's the radiator. Muahhaha Everything hidden gauges controls... etc. Why set M5 Standards.. Let's take it up to AMG. Wow ever seen that Vid with the STOCK E55 AMG i think it's the E55 but it spanks the crap out of a 03 Saleen withmods. it had like a Upgrade in intake, headers, full exhaust, drag radials, pulley kit, and spacer.... AND STILL lost to the stock AMG.... pitty!

Don't even get me started on AMG..

M really started it, but AMG took it a whole different level..

M is fighting back though, the next M5 will have a 500 hp V10.. That's big time N/A POWER!!

Still AMG defined big horsepower.

I thought the e55 was insane.. the SL600 Twin turbo V12 is even worse..

EVEN WORSE THOUGH

is the CL65 Twin turbo V12.. it has more torque then the sl600 engine.. something in the range of 600+ If i remember right... It runs like 120 in the 1/4..

I love the way AMG thinks

So, you want big power..

No probelm

Would you like a V8? Not enough.. Ok.. How about a V8 supercharger..

Not enough.. Perhaps A v12 Twin turbo would do it?

Still not enough.. We have a even more powerful version for your enjoyment

Sheer insanity

I have always said that, back in 1997, Infiniti should have introduced the Z-60 instead of the Q-41 (effectively).

With a 12 cylinder, 6.0 liter engine!

Yep. Infiniti is big on hp, as well..

They always love stating how they have the most hp in their class..

Well, let's take it to this next level :)

Koenigsegg just introduced a new model, of the car.

The CCR.

It has the horsepower record, and will soon take the high speed record, in guiness.

Most incredible car ever..

Trumps even the Mclaren F1

I did a search (google) awhile back on the VH45DE....seems that New Zealand is the place to be for super mods. Somebody there is running a twin supercharged VH45DE  One SC for each bank! Ohhhhh....I wish I had more money!
